MEET THE STAFF

ROBERT D. NATION (Artistic Director/ Executive Producer/Acting Instructor) is a native New Yorker and an Educational Theatre professional, with over 30 years of experience training actors and directing live theatrical productions. He holds degrees in theatre from Rowan University and Villanova University. He has guided the careers of children, teens, college students and adults, who have worked on Broadway and in Hollywood and produced touring companies comprised of young people who have traveled from the Northeast with their shows to London, Los Angeles, Florida, Hawaii and the Bahamas. His broad range of talents include directing over 50 musicals and 150 straight plays, designing & building costumes, coaching interscholastic debate and mock trial, and is himself, a performer & playwright. Mr. Nation created and nurtured one of the most respected and successful high school theatre programs in the northeast for over 30 years and was recently honored by the Paper Mill Playhouse as the Best Director of Musicals in N.J. schools. Mr. Nation and his wife recently decided to return to Florida where they purchased his parents former vacation home in Fort Lauderdale. Get to know Bob via this great video!

CLAYTON D. STULTS (Production Manager) is originally from Rockford, Ill. where he was first introduced to theatre in high school. After playing the role of Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol, he was sold on the performing arts. Upon graduation he apprenticed in the New American Theatre as the costume and wardrobe assistant manager while pursuing acting lessons. Subsequently, he acted in their New Playwright’s Festival. His passion lead him to Chicago where he worked behind the scenes as Properties Master at the Boxer Rebellion Theatre. Since moving to Florida, he discovered Andrews Living Arts Studio and has resumed his study of acting. He is thankful to Bob Nation and looks forward to playing “Riff Raff” in the upcoming ALA Production of The Rocky Horror Show in October.

KURT LIPHARDT (Box Office) was born and raised in rural Indiana where he was very active in school plays and community theatre. He started his college education at Purdue University where he majored in Visual Communications Design and participated in their theatre department. After completing 2 years at Purdue University, he transferred to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where he completed his degree in Graphic Design. Shortly after moving to Florida, in 1986, he started “kal graphics design studios,” that he still enjoys today as Creative Director. In his spare time he volunteers as an usher for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

JERROD JONES (Webmaster) is a native of New Orleans. There he attended Tulane University where he studied accounting. His deepest desire, however, was to exercise his creative side and participated in school plays. He stage managed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and became very interested in theatre dance. Subsequently, his love of musicals grew and he found himself attending every Broadway musical that toured the New Orleans area. He recently settled here in So. Florida and currently holds a position as a Relationship Banker for Great Florida Bank. For ALA, he has worked on several productions behind the scenes on props, music, promotions, and on stage as a performer.
